<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The search for new ways to solve the problem of obesity is highly relevant, since the effectiveness of obesity treatment worldwide is low. A possible promising target for researchers is brown adipose tissue. Brown adipose tissue is involved in the expenditure of excess energy and the maintenance of metabolic health, unlike white adipose tissue. In the human body, there are 2 subtypes of brown adipose tissue – classic brown and beige. This review attempts to determine whether there are differences in the effects of drugs on these subtypes of brown adipose tissue and in the consequences of activating these subtypes.</p><p> </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>белая жировая ткань</kwd><kwd>браунинг</kwd><kwd>бурая жировая ткань</kwd><kwd>метаболическое здоровье</kwd><kwd>ожирение</kwd><kwd>сахарный диабет</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>brown adipose tissue</kwd><kwd>browning</kwd><kwd>diabetes mellitus</kwd><kwd>metabolic health</kwd><kwd>obesity</kwd><kwd>white adipose tissue</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Harb E, Kheder O, Poopalasingam G, et al.
