Author Guidelines
General rules
The journal accepts only original research papers that have not been published before, are in the scope of journal and have scientific significance. We ask authors to submit the manuscript in doc/docx format, use double line spacing, font Times New Roman in size 14, include line and page numbering, all margins should be at least 20 mm. Recommended length of the manuscript: 10-20 pages for an original research or review, 4-5 pages for clinical cases, brief reports.
All pages should be numbered. Line numbers should also be included.
The following documents are required as attachments:
- Cover letter from the organization containing a brief description of the research and its relevance, explanation of its novelty, article type (topical review, case study, original research, brief report, etc.)
- Conflict of interest signed by all co-authors. Statement if the manuscript is the part of PhD thesis, if so the supervisor should sign it on the first page.
- List of three (or more) potential peer reviewers for your manuscript, including title, full name, email. These should be experts in their field of study, who will be able to provide an objective assessment of the manuscript. Any suggested peer reviewers should not have published with any of the authors of the manuscript within the past 5 years and should not be members of the same research group. If applicable, excluded reviewers could be mentioned.
Manuscript requirements
Manuscript should contain the following sections:
- Title
- Abstract
- Key words
- Body text
- Acknowledgements (if any)
- Conflict of interest
- References
- Figure legends
- Tables
- Figures
Title page
The title should be in capital letters, boldface type. To index authors, use last name and initials. Present the author's affiliation addresses below the names. Indicate all affiliations with the superscript Arabic numerals immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate affiliation.
Entire information about all authors should be provided below (full name, titles, affiliations, city, country, email, phone).
The title page should be in Russian and English.
This section should specify the corresponding author.
If the author list has more than 4 authors, it is necessary to indicate contribution of each author, for example: 1) development of the concept and design, 2) analysis and interpretation of data, 3) writing of the manuscript, 4) final approval for publication of the manuscript, etc.
- Abstract/Key words
The abstract should be in Russian and English. For an original research paper, it should be structured and contain 6 sections: Background, Objective, Design and methods, Results, Conclusion, Key words (at least 6 words). For reviews or brief reports, it can be unstructured and contain a description of no longer than 200 words and at least 6 key words.
- Body text containing the following sections:
It includes all abbreviations used more than three times. All abbreviations should be preceded by the full name of the original term with the abbreviation in brackets. Nonstandard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided. All abbreviations should be listed in alphabetical order and separated by comma.
It should be well structured: Background, Design and methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion. For reviews or lectures, it can be unstructured. All units should be given in metric (SI) units, please ensure all special characters are embedded in the text.

Authors should follow Vancouver citation style. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list. References should be numbered according to the order of appearance in the text and with usage of square brackets in the text: [1] or [1, 2]. Every reference cited in the text should be present in the reference list and vice versa. If there are more than three authors, include only three names followed by et al.
When citing author names in the text, cite only the last name of the first-listed author, followed by et al. and the year. For example: Smith AA, et al. (2008).

Figure, graph and table legends should be concise and data included in them should comply with those mentioned in the main text.
The number of the referred figure or table should be inserted into the text between round brackets, e.g. (Figure 1), (Table 1).
- Figures, graphs and tables
Figures, graphs, and tables should be provided as separate files, not embedded in the manuscript file. Individual figure file should be in optimal size (resolution at least 300 dpi). Each figure (jpeg), graph (tiff) and table (doc/docx) should be submitted as a separate file and numbered according to its occurrence in the text of manuscript. All images must be clear and legible. Lines, symbols, and letters must be sharp, smooth, and complete. Each photomicrograph should carry a scale mark at the right bottom, and the size indicated in the legends (attached as a separate sheet).
We encourage submitting of black and white images always when it is possible.
